WOOL AND SKIN APPRAISEMENTS Australiaii-N.Z. Cable Association, Melbourne, .Tan. 10. Mr. Hughes lias annour-ed that the first wool appraisements were highly satisfactory. The basis coft was cabled tr London to be critically (\n mined by English experts and was endorsed as technically comet in all partial!*"'*. The Imperial Government liiis adopter the suggestion that payment he made fourteen days after the appraisement has been accepted. The Commonwealth retains 10 per cent, of the money for adjustments.
Arrangements 'iavc been completed with the Imperial Government for the purchase of the exportable surplus oi sl-eepskins, 4000 bales monthly, including all available crosshreds. at prices fixed by the Commonwealth sheepskin appraisers, plus charges. The balance will be sold by public tender through the Central Wool Committee, which ;v:l( fix' the reserve price at not less than the appraisement value.
