FOREMAN'S REPORT. Foreman J. N. Harris reported:— : General: Since last meeting I have inspected most of the roads in the district and with few exceptions found them in very fair order. Witiroa ■ Road.—The work on this road is practically finished, the draya have gone to other work, one" man is still on finishing the breaking and raking in. The old metalling has also been repaired. The County men did their, share of making the connection of this read to tht main road. Ngariki Road.—The staff has moved on to that road together with the travelling samp. I find this road in rather bad order in places. Paora Road—This road requires reforming. The foreman was instructed to reform when suitable.

Rnakert Road.—The metalled pait js in fairly good order but above that it is very bad. A great quantity of firewood is bjyng carted down this road. With regard to fences or gates on this road complained of by Mr. Geary I found that the fences of the sections are in places very much out of their proper position, ar.d' very delapidated. It would almost take a survey to define the proper road line. The foreman to report again later on. Warca-Newall road—This road is in gcod order, a little rough in places. The bridge- at rjrty-man's creek an old wood culvert is, becoming langerons. It must be Teplaced very soon. The better job would be to cntj a new channel across the neck, and bring the new culvert there and fill up the old channel. I estimate to cut the channel would cost £OO and to build the bridge £SO; total, £l4O. To be again brought up before the Board at a later date. Stent road.—This road needs repairing in places the metal requires receatine, :ho lowest end has been formed but noFmetalled. /

Burgees road has a, few boles but on [tho whole U passable,

Hayly road.—Should have a light coat in places nnd the holes filled in. Pungarehu road. —Going badly into holes; metalling at the Jower end should be continued for another eight chains.

Tipoke road.—This is: not bad, there are a few holes in Opourapa road. I find this is in poor order. Lower Kaliui—This road it breaking into holes; the * ditches require cleaning out. Stray cattle.—During my travels I have noticed very little stock on the roads.

Pound. —There has not been anything impounded-during the month. Accounts amounting to £609 were passed for payment.
