•«* (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a large and representative gathering at the Town Hall on Friday night to bid farewell to Br. Barron, who ..caves 'here next week and will sail with the next veinfoiceinents. He was presented with a wristlet watch and a "hussiff," Rev. 0. M. Stent making the presentation. Dr. Barron, in replying, said he had done his best to get a locum tenons, but could not, and lie was sorry to leave the district without a medical man. Dr. Harron will be missed very much from here, especially by those needing his aid. When lie was sent for one could always reiy on him coining without delay. During his absence Dr. Milroy, of IVlanaia, will attend. The annual fete on the beach will be held on February 14, and an energetic committee is attending to details. The beach continues to attract large numbers of visitors. The weekly motor service to the mountain should prove popular here.
