MOTHER COUNTRY.
PARLIAMENT PROROGUED. Received Dec. 23, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 22. Parliament has been prorogued till February 7. The King's Speech proroguing Parliament alluded to the vigilance and valor of the army and navy, and expressed confidence that, however long the struggle, the inflexible determination of all his subjects of the Empire would achieve a notorious consumation to our war aims. The Government had been reconstructed solely with the object of furthering them, unaltered and unimpaired. The vigorous prosecution of the war must be the single endeavor until we vindicate the rights violated bj the enemy, and establish European security on a sure foundation, His Majesty concluded by expressing assurance of the united support of all his subjects in this sacred cauße, on which he invoked God's blessing.
