BUTTER FOR SOLDIERS. ' Appreciative reference to the gifts of butter forwarded by the New Plymouth Women's 'Patriotic League for the use of men on active service have been received by the senders. The butter is packed in tins, and men in the firing line in Franco and in camp in Egypt liave 'Written to state that the butter had been received, and had been greatly appreciated. The Y.M.C.A distribute the butter on its arrival, and. see to it that it ij properly served to the men. Regular contributions of butter are made by the following dairy companies for the purpose: —Waitara, Xorth Taranaki, Tikorangi, Maketawa, Stratford, Opunakc, Lepperton, .Mangorei, Omata, Okau, and 'l'ruti.
