A statement of the Dominion war expenditure from the outbreak of hostilities to September SO shows the total to bo £12,400,560. Hie principal items are: Pay, £5,390,113; transport, £2,G8G,277; equipment, £1,490,404 ;| rations, £038,875; camps, recruiting, £330,391; forage, :£327,713; hospital ships, £205,817; home defence; £'22<(,510; purchase of horses, £200,313. INCREASED PRICE OF NEWSPAPERS. , Received Dec. G, 12.40 a.m. London, Dec. 5. English newspaper proprietors have deckled to increase the price of newspapers by a half-penny. The alteration will not affect the morning papers for three months.
