STATE FISHERIES VENTURE ' I AILS. Received Dee. t, 5.25 p.m. Pertli, Dec. 5. fhe State fish supply jchemo has failed. The ' capital invested was .C6OOO, and the loves in two years amounted to £7OOO. The Inspector of Fisheries' report gives ;he principal causes of failure as the unsuitable steamers, and the fact that fish cannot bo trusted to bite within the regular hours allotted fo the State employees. ALLOTMENT OF COAL. Received Dec. 5, !!.45-p.ni. Sydney, Dec. 5. The Naval authorities have appointed a Central Committee, consisting of representatives of the shipping companies, to arrange for the allotment of coal for oversea vessels in order of precedence, after the transports and Government inter-State services have been supplied.
