■One of TaranakiV, oldest residents in the person of Mr. R. Hicks, of Tikorangi, died, 011 Saturday, at Jiis son'.residence, at the venerable age of 99 years. Mr. J. Marnier, who ilias been apprenticed to Messrs. Okev and Eollo during the past A]A years, but is leaving in order 0 join the Expeditionary "Forces, was on Saturday presented by Mr. : F. \Y. Okev, on behalf of the firm and its employees, with a wristlet watch.
