PALMERSTON APPEALS. By Te.'egrapli.—Press Association. Palmerston X., November 22. Tile Military Service Appeal Board sat at Palmerston to-day. John James and Stephen Williamson, two brothers, farmers, of Waituna, West, applied for exemption on tlio Grounds—(l) It was contrary to public interest, because of their occupation; (2) u.iduo hardship, because of the difficulty of obtaining export and other Jabor for their large farm of 1400 acres. Stephen Williamton, senior, •father of cppcllanta, said he could not do active farm work. One of the sons v/as in charge of the stock arf! the other of cropping. Besides the sum he employed o resident ploughman, a cp.sv.al lif.nd a-id a boy. The place, could do with eight men. The sor.s worked all their time on the farm.
