TARANAKI NURSERYMEN.

A mooting of the Taranaki District Council of Nurserymen was held in Stratford on Tuesday. Present: Mcssis. K. Mc. K. Morisoji (Stratford), in the chair, V. C. Davies (New Plymouth), secretary, P. J. Morshead (New Plymouth), J. Revell (Eltham), 11. Mills (Normv.by). A. S. Hicks (Tikorangi), W. P. Taylor (Stratford).

The chairman outlined the busiiie.is done at the Nurserymen's National Council's last meeting in Wellington held early in the year.

Ar.etion sales were briefly discussed and it was decided tli atowing to a large number of inferior and diseasjil trees being sold by auction, I'aranaki nurserymen abstain from all auction sa'.es for the forthcoming season, nnd to finally endeavor to do away with the auctioning of trees throughout the whole of the Dominion.

A price list of bulbs compiled by the leading growers of New Zealand was submitted and approved of. which now pro?'des a standard price for the wholo of the Dominion.

Owing to the increased cost of labor, land, and ail other materials pertaining to the raising of plants it was decided io lightly raise the 'price of barberry, boxthorn and pines, practically all other lines remaining the same ao pieviousiy.

The National Council's terms of business, viz., for cash 2J per cent, discount, all freights payable by purchaser, was adopted by the Taranaki Council, all public bodies, such as public schools, park, etc., to lie allowed a discount of 15 per cent, off catalogue prices. A great deal of other valuable business was put through. The following officers were elected for the forthcoming year: President, E. Me. K. Korison (Stratford); vice-president A. S. I-licks (Tikorangi); secretary, F J. Morshead (New Plymouth).
