■»' PATRIOTIC TOURNAMENT. On the Waiwakaiho links on Monday the New Plymouth Club are holding a tournament in aid of the Comforts Week Fund, and it promises to be a great success. There will be matches for both ladies and gentlemen, the ladies commencing at eleven o'clock and the gentlemen at nine, or as soon thereaftet as possible. The ladies will hold a combined medal and bogey match in the morning and have driving and approaching competitions in the afternoon; whilst for the gentlemen there will be a medal match in the morning and a four-ball (players choosing their own partners) in the afternoon, to bo followered by driving and approaching if time permits. For those who find the round too strenuous, continuous putting may he indulged in on the pavilion green. All arrangements have been made for entertaining the large number of players expected. Most probably a motor 'bus will run between the tram terminus and the links, so that players should find no difficulty in obtaining conveyance. Players will require to make their own arrangements for lunch, but afternoon tea may be obtained at the pavilion.
