BOWLING.
OKATO CLUB. The weather was all that could be flesired for the opening of the Okato Bowling Club's green on Thursday. Mr.' R. F. Roebuck (president), in a r.eai speech declared the green open for play. The President and VicwPresident (Mr. G. S. Fox), picked sides out of sixteen members present. Up to the sixteenth head it was a very tough battle, but after that Ihe Vice-President's side began to score heavily, and won easily. Considering the heavy rain lately the green was in. splendid order. Tlio ladies very kindly provided afternoon, tea, for which a collection was made for patriotic purposes, this concluding a very enjoyable afternoon's gathering.
