WAR LOAN CERTIFICATES.
SALES NOW EXCEED F£1,000,000. The sales of War Loan certificates during the second week in October have brought the total amount received up to £1,049,4119. The table below shows the allocation into the various postal districts. It is regarded by the authorities as a matter for congratulation that this means of raising funds to carry on the have been so successful as to have raised a million pounds in the space of two calendar months. Wellington, it will be seen, bears away the palm with a total of over £240,000, Curistchurch coming next with £147,000.
