INGLEWOOD.
_ (From our own Correspondent.) The Railway Department is eutting down antl removing many of the trees growing on the reserve. The reason is to give motorists a better view of the crossing. It is a pity it has to be done, but necessity calls and the trees must go. The Inglewood Rifle Club struck fine weather yesterday for their journey to Eltham whehrc they engage the Llthain Riile Club over a three-distance match. The ladies of Inglewood are using the needle and working the treadle machine to some purpose now, the intention being to. get a substantial "work basket'' away to the front for the boys in khaki and others. The Rod Cross mart has also developed IUO h.p. and is now open each Saturday instead of monthly as previously. Mr. P. Preo, the manager >f the Moa Fanners' store, now on a holiday visit to Sew South Wales, write; that he is enjoying the holiday. The weather has been remarkably dry, and the heat somewhat trying after Inglewood. Mr. J. Metlinne, late of Eltham. is in charge of iln; business during Mr. Preo's absence.
