ANNUAL MEETING.The annual meeing of the above company was held on Thursday, 17th inst., when Mr. Q. M. Longstaff presided over a f\ilj attendance of shareholders. The eighteenth annual report referred with satisfaction to the result of last year's operations. The quantity of cream received was 301,1061b, this produced 151,6221b of nutter-fat, which manufactured 175,5331b buttei. The average test was 39.10 and over run 15.70. The average grade for the year has been 53.51. The actual cost of making was C.Tld per lb. Placing butter on the market, including charges, boxes, etc., brought the total cost to 1.40 d per lb. The average cash payment to suppliers wag 16.22 d per lb butter-fat. In moving the adoption of the balance sheet Mr. Longstaff congratulated the shareholders on the most-successful season -they had ever hcd. The cost of production, putting butter on the market, etc.. was, as qxpeeted, higher than in normal times. Referring to the averagegrade (03.51), Mr. Longstaff said that it spoke well for home separation that the factory held fifth place at the freezing work* on the average grade list. He emphasised the necessity for suppliers sending along the best possible cream, and he was sure the manager would do the rest. After some discussion, the motion was carried. The five retiring directors (Messrs. G. M. Longstaff, 10. T. Marsh, fi. T. Scott, T. H. Kynon and N. B. Bishop) were re-elected unopposed. Air. Longstaff being re-elected chairman. Mr. Dixon drew attention to the condition of the residence, which, he considered, was in a very bad place as to drainage, and also to the lack of convenience, etc After some discussion it was resolved that a new residence be erected this season on a more suitable site. A motion to allow the chairman 7s fid and directors 5s per meeting was rejected. A bonus of 2d perlb was paid to supplier? at the meeting. Mr. ,1. S. C'onnett, president of tin Agricultural and Pastoral Society, addressed the meeting and in addition to all last year's members signifying their willingness to continue to support it, he received three new members.
