"PUNGAREHU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) At the last pingpong tournament here Corporal Pope was the recipient of a handsome presentation previous to his departure for the front. On Monday night last week there was a large gathering in the public hall to farewell Private Hanson, who was hereon final leave, and to whom was presented a valuable wristlet watch. C'ape Egmont Factory paid out an interim bonus of 3d on Saturday, the secretary of which (Mr. Brennan) resumed .duty after his sevfre operation. Tuesday night saw the final pingpong tournament for the, season, Mrs. Pop<r and Mr. Harrison being the winners. All the proceeds of these tournaments go to the patriotic fund.
