TWO MONTHS' WORK. \ \ Petrograd, August S. A communique says: We are successfully advancing on the Sereth, fortifying the captured positions. We have taken 8500 prisoners. A party of Austrians advanced on the Stok'hod with their hands lifted up and treacherously killed a colonel. Our riflemen killed the whole party. We took the offensive southward of the Dneister on a front of 25 vcrsts (15 miles). \Ye penetrated and drove the enemy back on the whole line and captured the town of Flmnacz, in the region eastward of the Dneister and several heights Our attack with gas is proceeding :outh-west of the Kolomea-Stanis-lau railway. London, August 8. Mr Stanley Washburn, reviewing the two months' offensive, says that Russia has approximately advanced 55 mile" at various points, and lias taken prisoner three generals, 7004 officers and 330,1 00 soldiers. She has also capt'.red 501 guns and 1200 machine-guns. These figures represent losses, including dead, casualties, and missing; of three-quarii rs of a :r.i!li.-,'i.
