HEAVY BOMBARDMENTS. A GERMAN REPORT.

Amsterdam, June 25. A German communique says:—The Anglo-French developed a lively artillery fire in the region from south to the La Bassee Canal to beyond the Somme. The bombardment continued all night. They also heavily bombarded the Lens neighbourhood and discharged gas unsuccessfully over, our lines in the region of Beaumont, Hamel and northward of Albert.

The enemy's fire on the left bank of the Meuse attained great activity towards evening, especially at Mort Homme. A small infantry undertaking occurred in the night, in which we were successful.

BRITISH ARTILLERY ACTION. GENERAL HAIG'S REPORT, ■London, June 25. Sir Douglas Haig reports that the British artillery is more active than usual on the whole front. A QUIET TIME Received June 26, 8.40 p.m. , London, June 28. General Sir Douglas Haig reports: Our artillery is very active along the whole front. The heaviest shelling is at Neuville and St. Vast, north of the Ypres and Meni Roads. The only other incidents have been small unsuccessful raids on the British trenches. German mines exploded without casualty.
