UITIORA CLUB. The first round of the Medley Cup Competition was played on Saturday, the best cards returned being: A- K. Smart 88—(IS) —73 Loftus 80—(14)—70 Simpson "... 101—(21)—80 •T. D. Sole 90—(lu) —81 Maekay 04— (12)— 82 The Thursday players will commence their series on Thursday. This week the ladies will play a medal match in connection with the series of matches arranged, and points .will be awarded for the three best scores returned. The Standish Cup competition of the New Plymouth Club will be advanced a further stage next, Saturday. INGLEWOOD V. WAITAEA. On' Thursday, the Waitara golfers journeyed to Inglewood and suffered defeat at the hands of the local club. The scores were as follow, Waitara be ing mentioned first:— Sampson v. H.
