FOOTBALL.
KAPONGA CLUB. At the general meeting of litis club, Mr. Guy, president, in the chair. The bal-ance-sheet showed a loss on the year's working of £6 4s 7d, chiefly owing to falling gate receipts and also to other causes. Mr. B. Fearon reported on the annual meeting of the Rugby Union, and explained their desires. It was decided to appoint Messrs. Guy and Fearon as a deputation to wait upon the local officer of cadets and see what could be done, the general opinion being that a fairly good team could be procured. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. (re-elected); president. Mr. A. H. Guy (re-elected); vice-president,s Messrs C. P. Crowley, W. R. Fearon, G. Lyall, F. Bertie (re-elected), and T. A. Sowmnn, who was elected in place of Mr. .T. W. Carter; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. F. Voullaire; auditor, Mr. J. B. Bennie; delegate to Rugby Union, Mr. W, 8., Fearon; management committee, Messrs C. P. Crowley, D. Malone, W. B. Fearon (re-elected), and Messrs. G. Lyall and P. Hammerslev, who replace Messrs. John (Kissick and Alex. Paterson, who liave enlisted. . , „ t . It was decided to hold the first practice on Saturday, May 13.
