TOWN SHIRKERS.
To the Editor. I Sir, —Your correspondent, ''Employer No. 2." puts forth a good few reasons' why the above should enlist, etc. I quite agree with some of them,, but may I point out that if town employers are to apply for posters or certificates with "We employ 110 shirkers," why should not the matter go further? Allow no fanner's produce to be purchased, no milk to be taken at the factory, auctioneers to sell 110 stock, no marriage certificates to be issued, no motor vehicles to be driven, banks to refuse accounts, railways to refuse passengers, etc.. etc., unless all show exemption certificates as to who are single men. To simplify the whole business, bring in conscription and do awav with individualising.— T am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
