| (From Our Own Correspondent). Mr. G. R. Sutherland, champion pi tho local Bowiing Club, won the champion or champions tournament at Stratford on Thursday last. The local player is a very consistent bowler and is to be congratulated on his win, On Thursday the Golf Club held their opening day, when mixed foursomes were played. The weather was ideal, and a large crowd of golfers assembled and had a most enjoyable afternoon. Afternoon tea x&s .provided by Mrs. Brown, the president's wife, and was much appreciated. The greens were in excellent order and the outfield all that could be desired. fhe match was won by Maetzig and Mrs. Surrey, with a scores of 115—29 —8(i. Other scores: H. Thomson and Mrs. Thomson 104—1G—--88, Hogg and Mrs. Brown 117—29—88, Surrey and Mra. Matthews 114—20—04, Gudgeon and Misß Hamerton 133—19 114; Hamerton and Miss Esse 147—28 119, Winter and Mrs. Gibbs 152—32 120.
