(Prom Our Own Correspondent! The metalling of Princess street, which has been delayed foi some little '.lme, is now being proceeded with., and is now nearing completion. Railway crossing signposts have been placed near the railway line, and should help in a large measure to protect the unwary pedestrian and driver from c\ccidents. in a letter from the front, dated Kebmarl 11, Troopei C. Vate states that he has come across numerous New Plymouth and Waitara hoys. A few mentioned were: Roy Okcy, Sid. Potts, E. Clare, W. Smith, R. Taylor, £. Roberts, F. 'Proctor F. Rillingß,' 8. McKoy, Reg. Uuilliam and Tim .Toll. All were ing exceptionally fit. He states jhat Tim .Toll was just returning to the base to have his eyes attended to. He 'ilso states that numerous parcels had beep, received from Waitara, and seemed to be S'ell scattered in Egypt. He had a cake of soap in his possession with the word "Waitara" scratched on the back. The fact that the parcels had reached their intended destination must be very gratifying to the senders. A very enjoyable musical concert >/as given "in the Clifton-Hall on Thursday a f ternoon bv the pupils ot Mrs. Marlow, UI.A.M., A.R.C.M. and Miss Marlow, A.R.C.M. These, concerts are becoming deservedly populai, and give the parents of the children a better idea of their musical talent, as well as encouraging the pupils to greater aspirations in the musical world. - Thursday's concert brought out fresh artists, arid, taken all round, the music was of a higher order than previous concerts. Items were rendered as follows:—Quartette, ,T. Campbell, M. Spurdle. D. Dowsett and N. Braccgirdle; solo, "To a \Vild Rose," Miss E. Little; songs by Mr. C. Whyte; duet. Mrs. and Miss Marlow; violin so«v Master Newton; duet, Master V. and Mis 3 C. Andrews; song, Miss Marlow; duet. Misses M. and V. Harrison; solo, Mrs. Marlow; quartettes, .Misses H. McCrnckeri, A. Rumbal, 7,. Sheard and R. Hunter; duet, Misses Bessie Jonas and E. Furdio; solo, Miss Harrison; duet, E. land ff. Knuekey; song, Mr. Davidson 1 ; solo, Miss Marlow; duet, Mrs. Marlow and 0. Clare; song, Miss Sheard; duet, C and H. Rowe; violin solo, Ti. Saleman; duet, E. Gaustad and A. Hoskin; quartette, G. Caldcr, V. Telfar, C. Kcmpsell mid Mrs. Ma"rlow. During an interval Association Board certificates were presented by the Mayor to the successful candidates.
