iN OALICIA. ! AUSTRIANS ADMIT RUSSIAN ■SUCCESS. Amsterdam, March 21. An Austrian communique says: After half a year's brave defence W3 have evacuated the ruined bridge fortifications north-west of Uscicczko. Although the Russians exploded a great breach the garrison, which wa* outnumbered eightfold, resisted for seven hours in the midnt of violent gun and infantry fire. Small detachments and the wounded proceeded' in boats to the southern bank of the Dueister, but, owing to the concentrated lire, such transport was soon abandoned. The garrison at night time cut their way through Uscieezko, which the enemy strongly held. The 'battles for the bridge fortifications at Uscieezko will remain for all time a glorious page in the army's annals. ON THE RIGA AND DVINA. RUSSIANS' OFFENSIVE. London. March 21. A German wireless says: The Russians are extending their attacks to the uttermost on tlie northern wing. We repuked them south of Riga, inflicting sanguinary losses, also on the Dvina front west of dacobstadt. We withdrew the far protruding narrow salient south of Narotch Lake for a few hundred yards to avoid the enemy's encircling fire.
