RECRUITING PROSPECTS. Sydney, March 21. The assistant Minister' of Defence is satisfied with recruiting. Already the additional 50,000 promised to the Government are in sight, and they will be able to reduce the reinforcement enlistments from 20 to 15 per cent. • TREE-PLANTING BY SOLDIERS. Melbourne, March 22. The Government is planting seven million trees, necesistating the provision of 14.000 acres of land, at a cost of £20,000. Returned soldiers will carry cut the work.
