OLD MAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gore, Last Night. George Brett, aged 77 years, and a resident ef Gore for 40 years, died suddenly this afternoon at the High Scheol,. while conversing with the recter. Deceased was secretary of the High Scheol Board, and was the first manager af the Colonial Bank in Gere, being subsequently in business. He leaves a widew, three sons, and three daughters, DROWNING CASES, . Auckland, Ye, lerday, Mona McKenzie, aged 13, a pugiiter of Dan. H. MeKenzie, was bathii„g in the river with a girl friend when she got beyond her depth and was drowned. John McCarthy, who was swimming in the Waihou River with others, suddenly sank in sight of his family on the bank and was drowned. lie was employed on the railway as a ganger. DEAT'I FROM HEART DISEASE. Wanganui, Yesterday. Edward Daines, a single man, aged about 35, died while being brought in from Kauwatea to the hospital. A post-mortem disclosed heart disease.
