i. ONE FROM GERMANY. . ENGLISH "PLOT" AT LILLE, jfe, ■ -.<i_ Received Jan. 13, 5.5 p.m. Amsterdam, Jan. 12. A German communique states: The French, attack collapsed north-west of •MesniL The explosion of a magazine at Lille is believed to be an English plot. It seriously damaged the adjacent streets, and seventy inhabitants were killed and forty more were wounded. AUSTRIAN CLAIMS. Received Jan. 13, 10.15 p.m. London, Jan. 13. A Vienna communique claims that the Russians on Tuesday made six attempts to penetrate the line at Bessarabia, but were repulsed and are in disorderly retreat. There are eight hundred dead Russians on the front of one Austrian battalion. The offensive against the Montenegrins is progressing, and the troops advancing across Mounft Lovtehen drove the enemy over the Njejjusix.
