ALLIES ATTACK AUSTRIAN SQUADRON. TWO AUSTRIAN SHIPS SUNK. Rome, January 1. An Austrian cruiser and five destroyers attempted to repent the exploit of bombarding Durazzo. They were allowed to approach and open fire, and then the Italian, British and French cruising squadron appeared. A seaplane was launchedirom an Austrian cruiser just in time to notify that the Allies were coming, when a shot through the motor sent the seaplane headlong into the sea. The Allies 'attacked the squadron, whil» torpedoeis attempted to cut off a retreat. The seaplane's warning, however, enabled the Austrians to fly, leaving the Triglav and Lika in a sinking condition. Some of the Lika's crew were taken prisoners and the Triglav sank with all handß.
