BRITISH WOMEN'S HOSPITAL.
HOME FOR TOTALLY DISABLED. To the Editor. Sir,—Finding that it is not urgently required, the British Women's Hospital have temporarily postponed their scheme for presenting a Base Hospital to the French Government. They now wish to carry out a work that they are confident will appeal to the sympathies of every member of the Empire. The site of the buildjng of the "Star and Garter Hotel" at Richmond haa been presented to Her Majesty the Queen, who has intimated her desire of giving it to the British Red Cross Society for a Home for our paralysed and totally disabled soldiers and sailors. The British Red Cross Society have decided that it would be more economical to pull down the existing building and erect one that will fulfill exactly the requirements of such a Home which is to be called the "Star and Garter Home" and they have asked the Committee of the British Women's Hospital to raise the funds necessary for this new building. The British Women's Hospital confidently appeal to all British women at home and overseas to help them to raise the necessary sum of £50,000. They are sure that all women will welcome this opportunity of doing a little for those who have done so much for them, and especially invito their sisters in India and the Colonies who are sharing their anxiety, hope and pride, to share also ill this permanent memorial of their gratitude. All communications should be addressed to The British Women's Hospital, 2, Robert Street, Adelphi, London, W.C.—I am, etc., GERTRUDE FORBES-ROBERTSON'. President, Advisory Committee.' London, October 15th, 1915.
