AUSTRIANS CLAIM SUCCESS. OPERATIONS ON SEA AND LAND. Received Dec. S, 8.35 p.m. , Vienna, Dec. 8. A communique says that the cruiser Govarra ami several destroyers, operating near San Giovanni and Dimedna (m the. Adriatic Sea) on the stli, Bank five steamers and several sailing vessels discharging war material. They also sank a French submarine. A French land 'battery of twenty guns heavily bombombarded the Austrian flotilla, hut without result. There was severe fighting east of Ipck. The enemy was repulsed, losing six guns. The Austrians captured Ipek and the Bulgarians have taken d'Jakova.
