STRIKE OX A TROOPSHIP. UNPATRIOTIC WHARF LABORERS. Received Dec. 8, 9,50 p.m. Sydney. Dec. 8. As a sequel to a recent strike eleven wharf laborers were lined £S lis each for participating in a strike on a troopship. Justice Heydon said it was marvellous they were such children that they did not realise their action was equivalent to fighting with the Germans.
GERMAN SCHOOLS STILT, OPEN. Sydney, Doc. 8. Mr. Holman has announced that a* there is no power for the State to deal with the matter, he has referred the ease of two schools in New South Wales conducted 'by Germans exclusively for German children to Mr. Hughes, and suggested that they he closed under the War Precautions Act, Mr. .Hughes has decided that military considerations do rot warrant action, and the State officials are considering the point. NO EXPORT OF BUTTER. Melbourne, Dee. 8. Mr. Tudor is unwilling to permit the export of butter, as there will shortly be a shortage in all the States except Tasmania.
