MYSTERIOUS MURDER.
FARMER SHOT WHILE IN BEp, By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Auckland, Sept. 25. Thomas Pef-ry, a farmer at Rama' rama, 25 miles south of Auckland, wu killed by a shot from a shotgun wMle in bed with his wife at 3 o'clock thU morning, the circumstances pointing to a cold-blooded murder. Ferry was tebut 40 years of age, and his wire is several years younger. He leaves a' family of nine children, ranging from 14 YMrs to two months. Perry returned frop a vifit to the city last' night, and the family, on their usual happy twins, retired at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Perry states that she was awakened by a» gunshot at 8 a.m., and heard her husband making noises. She saw he had been in the head. The eldest son, John, who was sleeping in an adjoining room, said hu heard a gunshot, and on going to his parents' room asked his mother what was the matter with his father. She replied that someone had bkrwn his head off. She told him to call a nfti«ltbour. The boy did so, and Dr. Bromfield, of, Papakura, was sent for. On arriving with the police at 4.45 a.m. Perry "was dead, his head being badly shattered and several parts of the skull blown away. There is no due to the murderer, but the shotgun has been found in the house.

CSilef-Detectlve McMahon and Sergeant-Detective Hollis arrested Mrs. Amelia 'Perry, widow of deceased, at 2 p.m. to-day at " Ramarama, and charged her with the murder. She will arrive by train to-night;, Mn. Perry ia 31 years of "age.
