Captain D. Cameron, late oV Wo Corinna, has been appointed head wharfinger at Dunedin for the Union Com. pany.

,G. W. C. Moon and Mr, S. J. Collett, Government tourist agents at Chrlstchurch and Dunedin respectively, are to exchange positions. Mr. G. H. McG&hey, of Xew Plymouth, has been advised that his son, Private Harry MeGahey, who has been wounded at the Dardanelles, is at present in the Xew Zealand hospital at Walton-on-Thames, England.

Mr. A. V. Penn, Sub-Collector of Customs at Auckland, has been appointed to the posilon of Collector'of Customs at Wellington. Mr. 'Penn is a brother of Mr W. J. Penn, of Xew Plymouth, and of Messrs. T. H. and C. Penn, of Stratford.

The Rev. A. 11. Colvile, vicar tif St. Mary's, will leave New Plymouth on his annual month's holiday 011 Wednesday. During his absence lie will -attend a meeting of the Synod at Auckland. The Rev. 11. A. Favell, of Te Ilenui, will relieve the, Rev. Colvile at St. Mary's. The death, in action, of Lieut. Cargo, of New Plymouth, was referred to at the annual meeting of the United Service Cricket Club on Saturday night, and a resolution of sympathy with his relatives was passed. Lieut. Cargo .was a prominent cricketer. The Rev. 11. H. Pittendreigh, who has been reported as having been killed at the Dardanelles, was a very promising minister of the Methodist Church. About six years ago he "was, as a home missionary, associated witli the Rev. W. J. Elliott, now of Ashburton, during the latter's term in the Carterton district, and later he spent twelve months as a home missionary in Marlborough. He went to Australia five years ago to complete his studies for entry into the ministry.
