VIOLENT FIGHTING. IN THE ARGONNE. Paris, Sept, 9. A communique states: There has been very violent fighting at La Fontaine-aux-C'harmes, in the Argonne, all night long. The Telegraaf, contradicting Germany's minimising account of the bombardment of Zeebrugge 011 August 23, says that the British fleet, from a short distance, fired sixty shells, killed forty and wounded a hundred. They destroyed a fort for submarines, with t,wo submarines, also two guns on the! harbor wall. They damaged a third gun and badly damaged the central shed, containing two airships.
