IN THE AIR.
EAST COAST RAID. MQRE MBY-KILMNG, iLondon, Sept. 8. > Official: Three Zeppelins were chased by aeroplanes, bat not located, although anti-aircraft guns came into action. Fifteen houses were demolished or damaged, Ten persona were ikilled and ■forty-six wounded. Three Zeppelins visited tike eastern counties last night and dropped bombs. Besides the destruction of fifteen small dwellings, many doors and windows were broken, and several fires broke out, but were promptly extinguished. There was no other serious damage. Two men, three women, and five children were killed; four men, eleven women, and five children seriously wounded; nine men, five women, and nine children slightly wounded. One man and two women are missing. It is relieved they are buried in debris. The total casualties were fifty-aix, all civilians except one soldier, wju> is jrepoijted, seriously w<sindsd.
STILL ANOTHER RAID. ; OVER LOUDON DISTRICT. CASUALTIES AND FIRES. Received Sept. 9, 5.10 p.m. London, Sept. 9. The Press Bureau reports that air.craft dropped incendiary explosive ibombs on London district last night. There were a few casualties and also some fires, which are now under control.. . .... ;i
FIRES UNDER CONTROL EASTERN COUNTIES ALSO ATTACKED. Received Sept, 9, 7.35 p.m. , London, Sept. 9. The Press Bureau reports that the Zeppelins also raided the eastern counties. . All the fires were well under control at midnight. Received Sept. 9, 9.5 p.m. Paris, Sept. 9. As reprisals for the bombardment of Nancy a squadron bombed the military works at Frescatz and the station at Metz.
THE SAARBRUCK RAID. u TERRIBLE RESULTS. Received Sept. 9, 9.5 p.m. Amsterdam, Sept .9. I German reports show that the air .raid on Saarlbruck had terrible results. .The military railway station was blown up and 75 people killed, the majority being soldiers. The authorities have ordered strict secrecy.
ZEPPELINS IN FLIGHT. DUTCH FIRE ON ONE. London, Sept. 8. The Central News' Amsterdam correspondent reports that three Zeppelins 'were seen flying westward this jifternono. Several Dutch garrisons fired upon a Zeppelin which was crossing Dutch territory, near Amsterdam. ZEPPELINS OVER AMSTERDAM.
.VIOLATION OF DUTCH NEUTRALITY Received Sept. 9, 7.35 p.m. Rotterdam, Sept. 9. Three Zeppelins, believed to be those that raided England, hovered for two hours on the morning of September 4tb over Amsterdam. Sentries fired on but did not hit the airships, which came low enough for spectators to count twenty of a crew. They departed hurriedly. It is believed they lost their bearings in the mist, Holland is perturbed at the violation, of her neutrality.
DEATH OF PEGOUD. A GENEROUS ADVERSARY. Paris, Sept. 8. A German aviator flying over the French lines dropped a wreath inscribed, "In memory of Pegoud, who died, a hero's death. —From his adversary." AEROPLANES ACTIVE Paris, Sept. 8. A communique 'states: Five German .aeroplanes this imorning bomjbed the palteau of Malzeville without damage. They bombed Nancy, killing some victims. Our aeroplanes, in co-operation with the British naval air squadrons, .bombed the hangars at Ostend. GERMAN HYDROPLANES LOST.
