FOOTBALL.
THE INeiLBWOOD CLUB. To the Editor. Kir, —I desire to explain why Clifton Were not notified that our teams were not able to meet, them on the occasion of their visits to the town. Every secretary who has had the experience will bear me out in saying that it is a very awkward matter to say, two or three days beforehand, that a match is on or oft", especially with a weak club, and at the start of the season. However, on both occasion's T. happened to be away, and when T. returned I learnt with regret what had happened. The inevitable circumstances and conditions of the times have had their effect. The Inglewood seniors are defunct. Our juniors are endeavoring to keep the remnant of their flag Hying. It is in striving to not go down without a struggle which lays us open to disappoint our fellow club's. Trusting that Clifton will feel that there was no intentional dis, courtesv,—l am, etc.. O. M. BOLDT, Sec. pro tern. Inglewood Football Club.
