RELIEF IN SERVIA.
SALVATION ARMY'S ACTIVITIES. Adjutant Home, of the New Plymouth Salvation Army, reports that the trustees of the Servian Relief Fund in Gisborne have shown their confidence in the administration of the Salvation Army by handing over to Commissioner Hodder the sum of £llOO to be distributed by the Army to sufferers through the war in that country. A press telegram from Christchurch confirms this, and adds that the money has been given conditionally that it will reach the desired destination. The committee cabled to General Booth, in London, who replied that he had despatched Colonel Govaara, a Dutch officer and linguist, to administer the relief, and if more .money could be sent at present it could be administered while Colonel Covaara was there.
