NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. Owing to the wet weather, the .ladies' match to have been played on the New Plymouth Club's links yesterday was postponed. NEW PLYMOUTH v. lIAWERA. The New Plymouth Club will send a team to Hawera to-morrow to play the Hawera Club. It was thought that the new 18-hole course would not be ready for play, but it is now suggested to use the new course. A four-ball match will be played over the new course in the morning, and if it is considered suitable for play, the singles match in the afternoon will be played on it, otherwise the singles will be over the existing ninehole course. The new nine holes out in the sandy country will provide interesting golf, and the new greens have come on surprisingly well. The fairways, in a few places, are still a little rough, but these will rapidly improve, and in a year or two Hawera should possess a really well laid out course equal to any on the coast. Eighteen players have been chosen to represent New Plymouth, but the Hawera Club has two further players available, and in order to provide matches for them Mr. A. liewley would •be pleased to have the names of those who can till these vacancies.
