ENTERTAINMENTS.

"THE WHITE SLAVE TRAFFIC." The Theatre Royal was well filled last night, when there was presented a picture programme of great merit, the chief item being a film entitled "The White Slave Traffic," containing a message and a warning that comes home with great force to parents of daughters who hanker after a career on the stage, or are smitten with the fever of wanderlust, and possibly become the .prey of the | monsters who thrive on the horrible traffic in human souls, which forms tha subject of the above film. The pictures which are screened do not contain anv feature that is in the slightest objectionable. At the same time they indicate clearly the methods adopted to decoy girls from their homes and force them to a career of vice. The story is one that must appeal to everyone, aid the applauso which greeted the captui of the villain showed only too well ho deepseated is the love of virtue in ever true British heart. The story is 01 that had to be handled with great del cacy, and that was done with pranc worthy skill, with the result that i aroused the spectators last night t exhibit their appreciation. The sup porting items were all worthy of a plac in one of the best programmes that hav. been given in New Plymouth. On Thursday next this attractive pro gramme will be screened at Waitara.
