The Defence authorities received advice to-day of the death in the Egyptian Army Hospital on the 26th inst., from enteric fever, of Sapper Jo]m Ernest Rosevcar (Engineers), next-of-kin, Erncst Rosevear, "Bullarook," Castle Street, Dunedin, father. The department is also advised that Lieut. P. Logan (son of Colonel Logan) died, and was buried at sea on the 20th inst. Private Murfttt, an ex-Patca boy with the First Expeditionary Force, has been wounded in action at the Dardanelles. Word has been received from the authorities that Private F. Rule, who was reported dangerously wounded at the front, died on Saturday. Private Owen Henry Roberts, ,who is reported to have died of wounds "at Malta, was the only son of Mr. H. Roberts, of Patea. Still another Patea boy has suffered in the recent fighting at the Dardanelles, Private D. ("Mutu") Ryan having been killed in action last week. Another old Patea boy to be wounded at the Dardanelles is Private H. ("Darcy") Johnston,, who is at present with the Kith Battalion of Australian Infantry. Private Johnston is a brother of Mrs.'J, Hulbert, of Patea, and is well known in this district, where he lived for some years.—Pre9s.
