AN UNUSUAL DEATH.
A CASE WITHOUT PARALLEL. Auckland, Last NightAn extraordinary death was described by a doctor who was giving evidence respecting the post-mortem examination of an old man named Robert French, who died suddenly in his bed at Mt. Roskill. The doctor, Dr. J. Howard Lawry, said that he found air in tlia man's heart, which was weak, and in blood vessels of the brain and in different places in the circulatory system. His theory was that deceased in attempting to rise from hia bed caused a slight lesion in one of his lungs and that air, aided by low blood pressure caused T»y a weak heart, invaded the circulatory system and the man died instantly of embolism or stoppage of circulation. The doctor said (hat, so far as he knew, there was no record of- a similar case. 1 he coroner accepted the theory and returned a verdict accordingly.
