HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. 'Wellington, Last Night. The High Commissioner reports, under date London, April 20, 0.40 p.m.: — The general attack by the Dardanelles, fleet and army was resumed on Sunday. The disembarkation of the army>, which was covered hy the fleet, began before sunrise at various points on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Despite the serious opposition o[ the enemy in strong entrenchments, protected 'by barbed wire, the 'landing was completely successful. At nightfall large forces were established ashore. The landing of the army and advance continues.

Casualties.—Officers killed 3, -wounded 21; men killed 88, -wounded 100, missing

London, April 27. The Canadian contingent had one officer killed and found wounded.

North of Ypres the Allies made very sensible progress on the left of the fighting line, repulsing the enemy, and inflicting great loss. The Germans are again using asphyxiating gas, but the means of protection taken show good result among the French and Belgians. A lively infantry combat took 'place north of Chalulnes, for possession of a hollow, caused by the explosion of a German mine. The enemy was dislodged, and the position maintained by the Allies, in spite of two counter-at-tacks.

In the Champagne district an attempted Gorman attack near Beausejour was immediately stopped. On the heights of the Meuse the Gerniicii attacks in front of Eparges, 'Saint Rcmy, and the trenches at Calanne were completely checked, notwithstanding the extreme violence of the enemy's effort. The Allies remain masters of the whole position at Eparges, whose slopes are ooxovod with German dead.

'ln the Vosges the enemy, after a violent bombardment, succeeded in gainins < l footing on the summit of Hartmausville. The Allies occupy positions a hundred metres around the summit, from whence they set out on the previous day to carry the summit by asSsv.lt in seven minutes.
