AN AUSTRIAN CLAIM. GREAT RUSSIAN LOSS. Received April 27, 0.40 p.m. Vienna, April 27. .An official message claims that the Austro- Germans captured a height south-east of Koziova, capturing a thousand prisoners. The enemy repeatedly counter-attacked Koziova and the adjoining districts. All the attacks were repulsed with heavy losses. Two battalions were annihilated and several further hundreds made prisoners. \Yc occupied many Russian trenches. The Russians before Uszok then retreated in full flight. DESPERATE FIGHTING CONTINUES. RUSSIAN FLEET BOMBARDS THE BOSPHORUS. Received April 27, 10.55 p.m. Petrograd, April 27. Official: The desperate battle in the direction of Stryi continues. Our fleet bombarded the Bosphorous forts, causing great explosions. GERMANS MASSING AT CRACOW. Petrqgrad, April 20. The transfer of German troops to the Cracow region and the Carpathians is daihi assuming larger proportions. They include Bavarian and Landsturm formations and newly-trained Germans. They r are denuding the Narew region of all 'units that can be spared, and with these they are plugging dangerous holes in the Carpathians and replacing them with heavy artillery. " '.
VICTIMS OF AIR RAID. TWO AEROPLANES CAPTURED. Petrograd, April 20. The victims of the aircraft at Biflostock on April 21 were mostly women and children. There were the corpses of six children in one spot. A bomb stmek the dome of the big synagogue, partially wrecked the interior, and caused a fire. Seven German aeroplanes dropped 74 bombs on Lomza on April 1!). Bombs fll near fie altar during a service in the cathedral and shattered all the windows. A fragment of a, bomb fell at a deacon's feet, but he calmly proceeded with the service. The Russian artillery brought down two aeroplanes and made the aviators prisoners.
