WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. There were present at the monthly meeting; of fixe above Board, the Chairman (Mr H. B. Lepper), Messrs Hail, and Surrey.Correspondence was read from Mr E. Gilmour, stating that he would over the books of the Board after the annual balance; from Minister of labor, notifying that Thursday had been appointed the statutory closing day for shops.; . and from Inspector of Noxious Weeds, stating that clearing of frontage of Scenery Preservation Reserve on Te Arei Road would be attended to.

The Chairman reported that Mrs T. Giddy had decided to give up the piece •of land adjoining the Manutahi :3ast! Road bridge ; also that the members of the Board present at the last meeting had, in company with Messrs Diggins and Hellier, inspected the proposed formation on ManutaM West road, and it Was considered it would cost considerably more than the settlers anticipated. Mr. Hellier had undertaken to consult those interested and had promised to communicate their Jscision on the matter, but so far no reply from him had been received. Mr Hall reported that he had, in company with the surfaceman, inspected the Richmond Road, by Mr Roberts' entrance, and although the filling woJd improve the road, the work was not absolutely necessary. Mr E. Gilmour was appointed returning officer to the Board. The Clerk reported that Mr Harris had returned the key of sand pit,, and that same had been handed to Mr. C. Munro.

It was resolved that Messrs Boithwick and Sons be requested to put in culverts at their entrance on the Waitara Road.

After, considerable discussion, it vas decided to repair the Lepperton Factory Road under the usual conditions, the Company paying half the cost of same. Resolved that it be left in Messrs Surrey and TurHbull's hands to arrange re laying down two and a half chains of new metal on the Cross Road. The surfaceman was directed to put down four chains of new metal on the Brown Road.

Accounts amounting to £57 were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
