LAST YEAR'S EECOED. j The annual report on the progress of work for the year ending March 31st, 1915, gives the following information:— STREETS. The past year has been an exceptionally busy one owing to the expenditure of part of the £42,000 loan and extra repair work due to wet weather. . General.—The total number of in«n employed for the year has varied from 135 to 72 and is a greater number than T had intended to employ, but owing to the scarcity of work due to the war I did not think it was advisable to reduce the staff. The employment of so larire a staff lias pushed the work on faster than I had intended but has been of groat advantage to the town.
