BOMBARDMENT OF AKABAH. BY FRENCH CRUISER. Received 28, 5.5 p.m. London, February 20. The French cruiser Desaix bombarded Akabah, landed a force and dispersed the village garrison. [Akabah, a, town on the Oulf of Akabah, on the north-eastern arm of the Red Sea.] f A TURKISH ACCOUNT. London, February 2G. Constantinople denies that the Turks surrendered to the English in Egypt. On the contrary, they accomplished scout work, and voluntarily discontinued operations.
