| EX-TROOPERS' DRUNKENNESS. EXPORT EMBARGO REMAINS. Melbourne, February 9. Strong military action ft pending in connection with the drunkenness of troopers in Melbourne. Mr Pearce stated that a number of men in uniform, whose conduct was a nuisance to the public, had really no right to wear the uniform, having becii discharged from the ranks. It was the intention of the authorities that these men should l>e cleared off. Men unlawfully wearing his Majesty's uniforms would be arrested and prosecuted. Sydney, February 10. TIIE WOOL EMBARGO. Received 10, 7 35 p.m. Melbourne, February 10. Mr Tudor has decided to honor permits for shipsments of wool to America granted up to February sth. The resumption of the Melhorne wool sales deponds on the Government's final decision regarding the shipping of wool to the United States.
PRICE OF BREAD FIXED. WHOLESALE RATE FOR JAM. Received 10, 9 p.m. Melbourne, February 10. The Commodities Board decided that, in view of the high prices of flour, ninepence per loaf in the inner suburbs and tenpence i n the outer were not unfair prices for bread. They fixed the following maximum wholesale prices: Apricot and gooseberry jams 8s 3d, mixed apricot and pineapple 8s Gd, and plum 7s 3d per dozen 21b. tins.
CONTRACTS WITH ALIEN ENEMIES. Received 10, 7.35 p.m. Melbourne, February 10. When the Federal Parliament meets in April, Mr Hughes will introduce a Bill for voiding contracts made prior to tlie war by Australian companies with aliens who have since become enemies. .
THE END OF THE WAR. Received 10, 9.35 p.m. Melbourne, February 10. Mr Fisher, the federal Premier, speaking at the Lord Mayor's luncheon, said lie hoped the late autumn would sec ttie finish of the war.
