NEWSBOYS ON STRIKE.

The newsboys' strike against the, proposal to increase the price of the evening papers to eightpeiice for twelve copies instead of fourteen has been in operation for a week. It started with the boycotting of the Sun and the selling of the Evening News, with the intention of forcing the former to give way. Then an attack was made on the Evening News. The latter has now refused to supply newsboys. The papers claim that vendors, make from £5 to £l2 weekly. Both sides are firm. The vendors, who have the support of the suburban agents, have formed an association. The proprietors have issued an ultimatum, fixing the price at 1)d per dozen. Papers are unprocurable in the streets.
