EXPORT OF HORSEFLESH.
FOR EUROPE'S STARVING MILLIONS. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, January 0. The managing director of the firm of Pitt, Son and Badgery has written to the Controller of Customs, asking if horseflesh is exportable. He points out that there is a great demand for meat for war needs and Europe's starving thousands. Horseflesh is highly appreciated as a food on the Continent. The horse is a clean animal and the objection to utilising it for food could only be sentimental. A client of the firm stated that lie had a lot of nondescript horses, of little value for work, but very fat. They would be a treat for the starving thousands on the other side.
