' N.P. DEFENCE BIFLE CLUB. The first match for tbe championship series of the New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club, the scores also counting for the c aturday Handicap Cup, was fired on . iturday under fair weather conditions. ..ome good scores were put up, Rifleman JlcWhirter obtaining the possible at SQO yards. Rifleman obtained the highest score off the rifle with 96, which, with his, handicap, brings his total to ,101, but as 98 is the limit at which a handicap is allowed to assist the rifle, -his score,\ along with three others, has 'been reduced to that total in the handicap event.
